World Cup Qualifier: England goalless draw against Ukraine
The Three Lions hang on for an important point in Kiev, in the 100th cap for Frank Lampard
On a night of few chances, it was the home side who perhaps edged it - but the defense - brilliantly marshalled by Chelsea's Gary Cahill - Stood firm.
Ukraine had the oustanding player on the night in the shape of winger Yevhen Konoplyanka and he went closest to opening the scoring with his free-kick with 20 minutes left but it deflected just inches wide off Phil Jagielka.
Frank Lampard, making his 100th England appearance, could only send a header wide of the far post in the final minute.
England now know that victory in their final two qualifying games with Montenegro and Poland, both at Wembley in October, will seal Their place at the World Cup finals.
