Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is considering following his former Gunners team-mate Robert Pires to India to take part in the Indian Super League

Henry, who has played in France, Italy, Spain and the United States, is not averse to the idea of playing in the new league in India, according to L’Equipe.

The ISL has already attracted former French internationals such as Pires, David Trezeguet and Nicolas Anelka and the addition of Henry would be another feather in the cap of the fledgling league.

But if Henry decides to play in the ISL, it could only happen next year as the first season is already under way.

Henry has even talked to former Gunner Robert Pires about the idea of playing in the ISL next year. The two legends talked on Robert Pires"s birthday when Henry suggested the idea of playing in the ISL next year and Pires getting a player manager role in the same club FC Goa. Pires is happy at FC Goa and wants to be there for another year to be part of the ISL next season with FC Goa.

With Zico in talks with the Indian federation for the national job, Pires could take the job of the manager with experienced assistant manager Arthur Papas retained at the same position.

At the start of the season Thierry Henry was approached by Delhi Dynamos to play alongside Alessandro Del Piero, but Henry rejected the offer as he was still under contract with New York Red Bulls.

Henry is not the only player who wants to play in the ISL next season. Rio Ferdinand is also eager to be part of the ISL next season but has not yet discussed the idea with IMG Reliance. Bayern Munich veteran Claudio Pizarro is also keen to join the ISL next season after watching the tremendous impact and buzz of the league in Europe.
