Arda Turan: "Nobody remembers who finished second"

Arda Turan expressed his disappointment at Atletico Madrid's 4-1 defeat against rivals Real Madrid but acknowledged a successful season

The 27-year-old midfielder missed the final due to an injury sustained in his sides 1-1 draw against Barcelona.

Speaking for media after the game Arda said, "We came very close to victory but nobody remembers who finished second.

"We have to put this behind us and look towards next season.

"We tried our very best and came within two minutes of winning the cup. The Champions league trophy was within reach but there is nothing we can do about it now."

The Turkish international played an integral role in Atletico Madrid's success making 30 league appearances this season and scoring 3 goals.
