Suarez the best player in the Premiership, and selected the best team of league
Association of Professional Players (PFA) in England and Wales has chosen Liverpool's Uruguayan attacker Luis Suarez for the best player in the Premier league

At last night's ceremony in London Uruguayan received the award, and he celebrated in front of Eden Hazard, who was named best young player in the league. In the competition were still Yaya Toure, Vincent Kompany, and Gerrard and Sturridge from Liverpool.

"This award goes to my teammates and the coaching staff and the entire Liveprool," said Suarez.

Suarez is this season's leading scorer with 30 Premiership goals. Excellent performance and added 12 assists, and Liverpool's largely thanks to his performance in the race to win the first league titles after 24 years. However, now with much less chance after Sunday's 2-0 defeat by Chelsea.

This prize has been awarded since the season 1973/74. Suarez has become the sixth Liverpool player who received it after Terry McDermott, Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, John Barnes and Steven Gerrard. Since the introduction of the Premier league only Steven Gerrard in the 2005/06 season got this award from Liverpool players before Suarez.
