Crystal Palace have completed the signing of young striker Patrick Bamford on loan from Chelsea. The 21 year old, who had a loan stint at Middlesbrough last season, was instrumental in Boro's progression to the playoff final (where they lost to Norwich) and was named Championship Player of the Year in 2014/15.
Boro boss Aitor Karanka wanted to keep Bamford at the Riverside, but Chelsea felt it would be better for the youngster to have Premier League experience and have therefore sent him to Selhurst Park.
Bamford, who scored 19 goals in 44 appearances for Middlesbrough last season, is in the last year of his contract at Chelsea
