Newcastle confident Krul will be fit for Leicester
Newcastle United believe goalkeeper Tim Krul will be available for selection for their weekend clash with Leicester City

Krul picked up an elbow injury whilst away with the Dutch national team, returning to his club, before Holland’s clash with Iceland on Monday evening.

The club revealed Krul suffered ligament damage, however he should be fit enough to feature against Leicester City on Saturday.

“Tim Krul has been further assessed today by the club’s medical staff and the club can confirm that he has nothing more than a very minor elbow injury,”
a Newcastle statement read.

“The club will continue to monitor the situation but are confident that he will be available for the game against Leicester City on Saturday.”

Newcastle have made a disappointing start to the season and are without a Premier League win game in their seven fixtures.

Back-up keeper Rob Elliott will feature if Krul doesn’t recover in time, with the club in needed of a win for under pressure manager Alan Pardew.
