Lukaku became the highest paid player of Everton ever

Lukaku became the highest paid player of Everton ever
Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku is expected to complete a permanent move to Everton today, according to several reports

The 21-year-old netted 15 goals in 31 Premier League outings during his Goodison Park loan spell last term.

And with Jose Mourinho having strengthened his strike force with the £32million arrival of Diego Costa this summer, Lukaku’s Chelsea future had been in serious doubt.

But, after weeks of speculation, that has seen the Belgian World Cup star linked with a move to Everton, as well as a move away from the Premier League to either Juventus or Wolfsburg, the striker hinted that a move was imminent via his Twitter page.

He tweeted alongside a picture of him inside a private jet: “Time to write a new chapter.”

Everton boss Roberto Martinez made no secret of his desire to sign Lukaku permanently and will be delighted to have him at his disposal next season.

It is not yet know how much Everton have agree to pay for Lukaku’s services, but it is being touted that he has signed a five-year deal at Goodison Park.
